How do you define ‘real’?

“What is ‘real’? How do you define ‘real’? If you mean what we can taste, smell, hear and feel then what’s ‘real’ is nothing more than electrical signals interpreted by your brain.”

-Morpheus, The Matrix

It has been a week now since I let go of mundane reality.  An evening with Mahara (once my dear brother), propelled me high and I never went down.  Again, the next Saturday, we were together; we sang some Tea Party as one and it felt good to sense his energy amalgamate with mine by our vibrations. I wanted to remain planted in the material world until the end of my employment so I can sort of remain conscious and focused.  But I guess my time was to come before and now I am not worried at all about the state of affairs.  I do what I have to do but I am not actually present.   I live where those words are imprinted now.  I don’t belong on the chair in that office.  It’s already over.

I could not wait for the reality shift to occur I must admit it.   I prefer my way of perceiving things to what is the consensus reality (what is agreed by consensus that seems to exist and therefore is held as being real).  I don’t feel I have to follow the rest just because it is the “sane” think to do… What a group or culture chooses to believe does not have to affect my own reality. My beliefs include our existence in a multiverse (or a structure of different parallel/alternate universes including this physical/solid one).

I also perceive that there are various keys that are left there to be discovered and that unlock knowledge that has been hidden in your mind.  I believe that humans are lead to believe from the moment they are brought in this life, that a lot of things that actually are in existence are merely fictional.  So if you discover that you are different, that maybe there are things that you perceive that other don’t, you either force yourself to refrain it or people make it so you don’t have the choice to hide it and stop believing in it. Unless you are ready to be tagged as an odd person, the majority will pass their reality under silence all their life.  But in my case, even if I would want it to go away I could not; it is in me; it is written in my DNA, in who I am.

What is seen  as mundane or usual, I can see their essence and I can see their inner life.   I can recognize my brother and sisters and they are driven to me sometime without even knowing why.  Often they don’t see who they truly are, but I make them see when they ask for how I see them.

Groupthink is something that I denounce; to have people trying to minimize conflict by pretty much setting aside there individuality bothers me.  It leads to just stop thinking, not analysing what things mean to you; you just reject your doubts and accept what is common because you do not what to upset the “group”.   And of course, when we treat of Reality, you have always masses of “reality enforcers” that will make sure that you are put back on the right track.  You cannot be an error in the equation that makes their “perfect world”:   you have to fit the idea of reality that was implanted…

Some methods have been used in Korea and China to alter the mind of individuals without them even noticing it. It has been  studied and in 1961 Dr.Robert Jay Lifton published a book including descriptions such ways.  Strangely, Reading it i can write down my thoughts about today society blindness, at the big veil that has been covering other possible realities than the mundane consensus reality:·

  • Milieu Control:
Involves control of the information that one has access to.  The individual ends up in a relative isolation from the society at large; his ideas and perceptions of the world are based what is presented to him.  We are shown what we are supposed to believe. The television, the news, publicity dictate to us what is happening, what is considered important for us to know.·

  • Mystical Manipulation:
The manipulation of events, experience to make it appear as if the religious or spiritual leader demonstrate divinity, special gifts, talent or a superior advancement than the common individual.  The followers will then  put their faith in the hands of “the Above”, making it easy to not think and comply.·

  • Demand for Purity:
You have to follow the world view.  You are either in or out…  It’s black or white, that’s it. Shame and guilt are powerful devices to break someone into conforming to the group ideology.  You got to strive for perfection to be respectable or at least accepted·

  • Confession:
You got to confess your sins, wrong attitude, your faults… Again shame and guilt make their appearance.  You are wrong, you are different. You see… You got to admit that you are not pure.   And then, that gives power to others to control you.  Be like everyone to feel like you are a good person.  Do not think; just walk on the line that is traced for you.  If you don’t , you are a sinner.·

  • Sacred Science:
The ultimate truth.   The one truth that cannot be discussed.  It is supposed to be final.  If this Sacred Science cannot prove something, then it must not exist.  You cannot critic or discuss matters because it is proven under the ultimate truth that the leader enforces.·

  • Loading the Language:
The use of words, phrases a jargon that serve to make the individual conform to the group’s way of thinking.  A lot of people will laugh at the seriousness of words such as: aura, chakra, soul, synchronicity, spirit guide, brainwaves, reincarnation, etc. They are not part of the “sane” language and therefore, a lot of people will not take people seriously when they claim their belief of them being a reality. ·

  • Doctrine Over person
The personal experience are pushed aside and not considered as important as the sacred science or consensus reality. Or even, they are subordonated, considered contrary so they are denied or reinterpreted to fit the ideology of the masse.  People will tell you that what you claim is impossible, irrationnal, must have been fatigue, drug or alcool induced, but you are wrong in their idea.  They believe that if it is not widely considered true, it is a unreal by default.·

  • Dispensing of existence:
The group has the final word on who has the right to exist and who does not. Who is sane and who is not.  What is good and what is bad, etc…  Those that don’t follow what the group believe in must be lost. They need to be brought in, they need to join the group or they will be rejected and will lose all credibility.   Even if you have spent years with people, if the way you think, what you believe bothers the common order, there is a chance that they will push you aside since you don’t conform anymore the the groupthink.

Well, I believe in looking reality straight in the eyes and denying it. There has been in the past few years a number of people that have broke free from the spiral of silence; they have voice an opinion about who they strongly believe they are and about the fact that they are not completely in acceptance with what has been taught to them to be true and real. I know that more people will come forward with time until the year 2012 where it will be a new era for us.  Throughout history people have wondered what to do with those who do not agree with the consensus realities of others, or of the society they live in. Eccentrics, mentally ill, deviants, strange, wicked, divinely inspired, enlightened, evil; we have been viewed as something that does not fit in the proper, well-mannered sparkling white (or so they wish it) world.

Brother and sisters: You are not alone.  Please Remember this.

  1. There is much truth in this post, and I was quite interested to see that it had some parallels to my statements and thinking c. 1988-1992. To the extent that you oppose so-called “reality” you and I have common cause. In particular, Dr. Lifton’s observations can easily be seen as particularly, if uninentionally, describing the field of “Reality Enforcement,” which is even the title of my (1990) unpublished novel.
Please accept my expression of solidarity and assurance that you are not alone either.

How can people believe in God, or religion, when seen things such as the concentration camps in Germany, or seen all those War conflicts all because of Religion!! People praying together and praising God’s game? I Mock the idea of believing something that does not live nor is fact!!

    You are not alone!!
